Support for university sports at Geisenheim University
In order to be able to react immediately to medical emergencies in connection with cardiac arrhythmias on the pitch, FC Campus, the university sports football team at Geisenheim University, will in future have a defibrillator at their disposal. “The collapse of Christian Eriksen during the European Championship game between Denmark and Finland showed us once again how important a defibrillator can be for young and old on the sports field. We bear responsibility and therefore, as WEINELF Germany, we immediately purchased a high-quality device. We also make this available to university sports at Geisenheim University! Let’s hope it never comes into use, but if it does, we’re prepared!” says Robert Lönarz, President of the German national team of winemakers – WEINELF.
WEINELF's medical advisor, Priv. Doc. Dr. med. Alexei Korchounov, recently presented the high-tech device during the Max Stillger Foundation tournament in favor of the Ahr winegrowers on the sports field in Niederbruch.
A defibrillator (shock generator) is a technical medical product that has the task of supplying the heart with electrical impulses. The aim of this impulse is, on the one hand, to activate the heartbeat and, on the other hand, to establish the correct rhythm.
